OUR STORY

Perched atop Piña Hill overlooking a lush jungle landscape, The English Rose has been a staple of the Rincón community for nearly 15 years.

The English Rose is a hilltop oasis, just a short walk from Playa Escalera and Tres Palmas, and a quick drive to the center of Rincón.

In 2019, a new partnership between restauranteur Jessica del Mar and Aprovecha Investment Fund, which seeks to support Puerto Rico based businesses with an emphasis on the Rincón community, was born and thus began a new future for the beloved establishment. Together the team embarked on a project to refresh the lesser known guest house at The English Rose, with a focus on showcasing Rincón-based artisans and tradesmen.

Led by designer Phoebe Mackay, “It was very important for us to curate as much local art, photography, and design as we could,” says Mackay. “From Rincón-based contractors to local craftsmen, we wanted each room to reflect the spirit of this special community and be touched by the rich talents who call Rincón home.” The hope is that by featuring local work, the details in each room will drive business to the artisans - to provoke a trip to the local bookstore or art gallery in search of a vintage treasure or photograph to take home.

  • HOW FAR IS THE BEACH AND ACCESS TO SURFING?

    The English Rose is located just up the hill from the beaches at Tres Palmas Marine Reserve and Playa Escalera - a short (but steep) walk or a quick drive. Famous surf breaks at Maria’s Beach and Domes Beach are a 5 minute drive away.

    DO YOU HAVE PARKING?

    Yes, we offer free parking. Guests are permitted one car per room. This is strictly enforced due to limited capacity. Bringing or renting a car is strongly recommended in Rincón due to its mountainous topography.

    DO YOU ALLOW CHILDREN TO STAY?

    Children aged 10 years and older are allowed at The English Rose. We do not allow children under 10 years of age. Our Balcony and Poolside Suites offer daybeds for up to one additional person per room.

    WHAT ARE YOUR CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT TIMES?

    REGULAR CHECK-IN: 3pm-midnight.

    EARLY CHECK-IN:

    We can only guarantee guest rooms will be available by 3pm. We are happy to welcome you to the property as early as 8am, but cannot guarantee your room will be available. While we get your room ready, you can enjoy breakfast at the restaurant and explore Rincón.

    11am

    DO YOU ALLOW PETS?

    No, unfortunately we do not allow pets at The English Rose.

    WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

    If your booking is cancelled less than 30 days before arrival then a charge equal to 50% of the stay will be made. If your booking is cancelled less than 7 days before arrival then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made. In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.

    Please note: Different cancellation policies may apply when reservation was made via a 3rd party booking service (e.g. Booking.com, Airbnb). Those bookings must be cancelled through the applicable provider, and cannot be cancelled through us.

    IS BREAKFAST INCLUDED IN THE RATE?

    No, breakfast is not included in the rate but our full menu is available for room service delivery daily from The English Rose Restaurant.

    DO THE ROOMS HAVE A MINI-BAR/FRIDGE?

    Yes, all rooms have a mini-fridge stocked with local beverages and snacks.

    DO ROOMS HAVE A/C?

    Yes, all rooms have air conditioning.

    WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?

    Monday - Friday 8:30AM-4PM serving breakfast + lunch

    Saturday + Sunday 8:30AM-1PM serving brunch.

    PLEASE NOTE

    If you need separate checks, please let your server know upon arrival.

    Due to our high volume of business, we can accommodate a maximum of two cards per table.

  • IS THERE A LIFEGUARD ON DUTY?

    No, we do not have a life guard on duty.

    DO YOU PROVIDE TOWELS?

    We provide towels to our guest of the English Rose. Pool pass purchasers must provide their own towels.

    WHEN IS THE POOL OPEN?

    The pool is open daily from 8am - 10pm.

    Pool passes are available on Saturdays from 12-4 and must be purchases and reserved ahead of time by calling +1-787-823-4032
